Keynote @ Innovate South

Still riding the high from the electrifying energy at Innovate South! What an absolute privilege to speak with software engineers, startup founders, and students about working with AI and NOT against it.

During my keynote, I previewed something close to my heart: an interactive doll based on the main character from my Terysa Solves It book series, using the power of AI. She’s designed to spark curiosity by asking/answering questions and even helps kids explore what they love, whether it’s art, coding, or cooking!

One of the most heartwarming moments? Speaking with an audience member as I got off the stage who is an AI startup founder and proud dad, who shared how his 7 year old daughter used AI to boost her reading skills post pandemic.

And the full-circle moment? Destin Ortego, who invited me to speak, and I first connected years ago when we were both named to Acadiana’s Top 20 Under 40. From that shared recognition to sharing a stage, what a journey.
